Francisco Zuniga Mujer de Oaxaca – Brewster 42 is a beautiful example of Francisco Zuniga’s prints of peasant woman from Mexico. The Oaxacan woman depicted has classical Aztec features and wears a typical head dress. Her meditative posture echos themes of religion, ritual, and the power of the matriarch. Describing his work as “a continuous representation of femininity”, Zuniga’s artworks almost exclusively focus on female figures in various ages and stages of maturity.
