This beautifully carved Mumuye Figure Sculpture was exhibited as a part of the Erle & Clyta Loran Collection. A typical ancestral figure, the sculpture is highly abstracted, with openwork between the body and the arms, which forms a scroll or a spiral around the slender, cylindrical bust. The face of the Mumuye Figure has scarification and white trade paint accentuating the various features.
