This stunning Vladimir Cora canvas is a striking example of the artist’s early abstract period at the outset of his career. Primarily painting with oils, these early paintings by Vladimir Cora show an sophisticated understanding of color and texture. Particularly the depth of texture of this composition shows a direct influence from another Mexican Master, Cora’s mentor Rufino Tamayo. The thick use of paint gives the composition a striking sculptural quality, while Cora’s rapid brush strokes add another layer of dimension.
